Clarion County economic agency moving ahead with brownfields grant

The Clarion County Economic Development Corp. (CCEDC) has chosen BL Companies, an employee-owned firm, to lead a $500,000 Brownfields Community-Wide Assessments grant project. This grant, awarded in 2023, supports brownfield inventories, planning, environmental assessments, and community outreach. CCEDC’s executive director, Jarred Heuer, emphasized that this initiative is the corporation’s first step towards brownfield remediation, offering flexibility to address multiple sites and assess redevelopment feasibility. Heuer noted that BL Companies’ expertise will help CCEDC leverage the EPA grant for future funding and redevelopment efforts, with the project set to begin this month.
