Marine Corps veteran Corporal Harry Brown, a 74-year-old Vietnam War Purple Heart recipient, was honored by the Summerville-based Nimble Thimble Quilters with an Honor Quilt at the Veterans Affairs Clinic in Clarion. Brown, who enlisted at 17 and served as a mortar man alongside elite military units, was wounded during the 1968 Tet Offensive and faced hardships both in combat and upon returning home. Despite suffering from Agent Orange exposure and a stroke later in life, he expressed deep appreciation for the kindness of the quilting group, calling their gesture something he would cherish forever.
