Hi. My name is Cindi Power. I’m an editor at The News-Herald and The Derrick. Notice I mentioned The News-Herald first. That’s because I’m a tried-and-true News-Herald girl! When I interviewed with Jim Davis for a reporter’s job at the Franklin newspaper back in 1990, I had no idea that I was about to fall in love — not with Jim Davis (I do love you, though, Boss!), but with this wonderful, amazing and marvelous thing called newspapering!
For the past 15 years or so, my main job has been to produce the newspaper’s many Special Sections that run the gamut from bridal trends and car care to our mammoth Business Review and Forecast and the very popular cookbook editions.
Over the past 26 years (yes, I started here when I was 3!), I have been blessed to work with an enormous number of smart, kind and inspiring people who have cared as much as I do that the newspaper serves our readers well, day in and day out.
We are always looking for more ways to serve you, dear readers. So if you have a suggestion for a story in one of our Special Sections or for the regular newspaper, I’m all ears! Give me a call at 677-8370 or send me an email at specialsections.thederrick
Oh, one more thing: This is me holding my prize for being the biggest Pittsburgh Penguins fan in the office. Thanks for conceding, Saxon Daugherty.
