Cadet promoted with Franklin Civil Air Patrol

The Franklin squadron of the Civil Air Patrol (CAP) recently gained a new cadet officer when Navy Perry (second from left) was promoted to cadet second lieutenant after surpassing all requirements for the Brigadier General Billy Mitchell Award. The CAP said only 15 percent of cadets across the nation attain this level in the cadet program. Since her promotion, Perry has become the squadron’s new aerospace education officer. Pictured with Perry at the promotion ceremony were (from left) Lt. Col. Steve Aaron, Cadet 2nd Lt. Mariner Perry, Capt. Marvin Hall and 1st Lt. Diana Hillyard.
