From staff reports
The Northwest Commission, United Way of Venango County and Oil Region Alliance are partnering with the Pennsylvania Broadband Development Authority to engage the community in discussions about broadband access and availability.
The partners are seeking information about access here to affordable, reliable broadband connectivity, and anyone interested in sharing their thoughts is invited to join a casual meeting from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Monday, July 31, at the Rainy Lynn Hall at the Venango County 4-H Fairgrounds on Mercer Road in Franklin.
No personal information will be collected, and all are welcome. A meal catered by Country Grub will be provided to those in attendance.
The state received $1.16 billion from the BEAD program to develop and expand high-speed internet access Pennsylvania. And public participation and feedback collected at this event will help determine how much of this funding will be allocated to Venango County.
Registration isn’t necessary but is helpful to plan meals.
Anyone with connectivity can register at dced.pa.gov/event/internet-for-all-community-event-venango/.
Registrations will also be accepted by calling (814) 677-4800, Ext. 100.
