Board OKs special exception for Franklin bed and breakfast

Trails to Ales Realty received approval from Franklin’s zoning hearing board to open a bed and breakfast on the second floors of two Liberty Street buildings. These buildings, currently housing a former pharmacy and a retail shop, will keep their ground floors for retail while the upper floors are renovated into five rental units. The bed and breakfast will be managed by Trails to Ales Brewery but won’t provide food for guests. The business plans to advertise on platforms like Airbnb, and parking will be available off-street. Approval from the Historical and Architectural Review Board is still pending for the exterior signage.
