Bluegrass packs ‘em in at Moose Club

The Barret Brothers, one of the area’s local bands, perform at the Oil Country Bluegrass Festival. This year, they brought a couple of new songs, one inspired by a poem written by a grandfather and the other being a train song based on the New York City subway.

The Oil Country Bluegrass Festival celebrated its 16th anniversary at the Oil City Moose Club, drawing hundreds of fans and featuring 19 bands from across the region and beyond. The event, benefiting the Oil City Arts Council and CASA, highlighted community support, with the Moose Club donating space and proceeds to the causes. CASA also received additional contributions for its Kits for Kids program. The festival honored musician James Edwards and welcomed youth volunteers from Oil City Area High School. The daylong event, filled with raffles and music, marked the start of a year of Arts Council activities, including the upcoming FAM JAM in May.
