From staff reports
The American Red Cross has an urgent need for blood donors.
In recent weeks, a decline in donations has caused the Red Cross blood supply to shrink nearly 20%.
This drop in donations could lead to a seasonal blood shortage that can negatively impact patient care at hospitals across the country, the Red Cross said.
Participants can donate blood from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 8, at the Cranberry Mall, or from noon to 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 19, at Atlantic Avenue United Brethren Church, 160 Atlantic Ave., Franklin.
Appointments can be made online at www.redcrossblood.org.
