Community Blood Bank, which is the exclusive blood supplier to 19 hospitals and seven Stat MedEvac bases throughout the region, will hold a blood drive from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday at UPMC Northwest in Seneca.
All blood types are needed, especially Type A negative and Type O blood.
A press release says the number of donors showing up has declined, and the need for new and returning donors has increased. The blood collected by the blood bank is used as quickly as the following day in some cases.
