Bicycle rodeo set June 29 in Franklin

A free bicycle rodeo for children will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, June 29, in the parking lot of the Franklin Alliance Church at 1200 Otter St.

The rodeo is open to children ages 5 to 12 and will consist of safety activities and games, bicycle inspections and helmet inspections.

Registration will begin at 6 p.m.

All attendees should take a bike and helmet and be accompanied by a parent or guardian who can sign a permission slip for participation.

Alliance of Bikers Aimed Toward Education of Venango County will award a free bicycle to one attendee and the Franklin Alliance Church and Franklin Chamber of Commerce will provide a hot dog dinner and snacks.

Wearing a helmet is required for participation in the rodeo. A limited number of free helmets will be available complements of Safe Kids Clarion-Venango.

PennDOT, the Franklin Area Chamber of Commerce, the Franklin Alliance Church and the City of Franklin are hosting the event.
