Auditions for a community choir that will sing various selections of Handel’s Messiah will be held Saturday, Oct. 16, from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. and Sunday from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Belles Lettres Club in Oil City.
Those who have not sung in the Handel’s Messiah concert with the Barrow-Civic Theatre in previous years must audition.
Those wishing to sing in the choir should prepare the first 18 measures of Chorus No. 44 “Hallelujah” on your appropriate voice part. Soloists will be selected at a later date from the chorus if possible.
Anyone who has sung selections of Handel’s Messiah in the past with the Barrow-Civic Theatre and wishes to join the choir, email your name and contact information to clarahanbctc4@gmail.com or call (814) 437-3668 as soon as possible.
The performances are scheduled for Dec. 18 at 7:30 p.m. and Dec. 19 at 3 p.m. at the Belles Lettres Club.
