On Monday, Aqua Pennsylvania lifted the Cooperstown boil-water advisory they had initiated Dec. 2. The advisory impacted about 130 customers served by the Cooperstown Water Company.
Customers can now resume normal use of water after the company’s test samples showed no danger to drinking water in the area, according to an Aqua Pennsylvania news release.
The reason for the boil water notice was because of a power outage that resulted in a loss of positive pressure in the distribution system.
The Montgomery County-based company is operating the system as receiver under order from the state Public Utility Commission.
