A Year of Firsts

By Selina Pedi-Smith

As 2024 draws to a close, we find ourselves reflecting on a year filled with challenges, milestones, and plenty of lessons learned. At Pellere, this year has been a whirlwind of firsts: our first federal grant award, our first agency partnership, the launch of our first ambitious microgrid project, and our first residential remediation project. Each of these milestones represents a step forward, not just for Pellere, but for our communities.

Our residential work is just one part of the larger goal: community redevelopment. Every dumpster filled, every spark of a new idea, every conversation that turns into a vision—it’s all part of a larger story of revitalization. This year, we saw that story begin to take shape, and it’s been nothing short of inspiring.

But inspiration isn’t enough. Real change takes hard work, collaboration, and, sometimes, a little patience. We’ve faced setbacks and surprises, but we’ve also seen the power of perseverance and the strength of a community willing to invest in itself.

As we turn the page to 2025, we’re taking those lessons with us. Next year will bring new challenges, new projects, and new opportunities to create a brighter future for Venango County and beyond. We’ll continue to focus on what matters most: transforming spaces, supporting communities, and proving that progress is always possible, even in the face of adversity.

To everyone who’s been part of this journey – our partners, volunteers, and supporters – thank you. Your belief in what we’re building together has made all the difference.

Here’s to another year of dreaming big, rolling up our sleeves, and making those dreams a reality.

Happy New Year, from all of us at Pellere.
