Despite the shortage of onlookers, the Rocky Grove Fireman’s Fair Parade began near Wiley Avenue on Wednesday, June 26. The line of fire trucks, ambulances, other vehicles from local areas, including Rocky Grove, Reno, and Polk, traversed the residential streets. Candy was thrown from automobile passengers and pedestrians handed out rubber bracelets and orange and black pencils. Cheers from local children erupted as their bags filled with treats. After the somewhat short route had concluded, each member of the parade ended their excursion at the Rocky Grove Volunteer Fire Department Fairgrounds.
