4-H Teen Council holds Winter Formal in memory of Franklin student

Venango 4-H Teen Council recently hosted their annual Winter Formal in memory of Maddie Johnson, a Teen Council Member and friend. Johnson, a Franklin High School student who died in a motor vehicle accident in December 2022, was involved in 4-H programs for numerous years. She was an avid dairy showwoman and won several awards for showmanship and many accolades with her Brown Swiss show cattle herd. The Winter Formal was planned and ran by Teen Council, a 4-H club made up of 13- through 18-year-olds who support their community and the 4-H program. There were over sixty youth who attended from five counties. They were assisted by their advisors Kelsey Ziegler, Becky Deeter and Sarah Burke. DJ Phil Close ran the music and Creekside Granite generously donated refreshments.
