Two Oil City police officers were injured Saturday during an altercation with a transient Oil City man who was a parole absconder.
Oil City police said in a criminal complaint that at about 2:30 a.m. Saturday, they saw Noah Cooley, 22, who they knew to be wanted and a parole absconder, and stopped to make contact with him.
During the altercation, Cooley “struck, kicked and physically resisted officers all while ignoring commands of the officers” and at one point grabbed the grip of one of the officer’s holstered firearm, the complaint said.
Cooley also gave a false name and identification to the officers, the complaint said.
Cooley has been charged with two felony counts of aggravated assault-attempts to cause or causes bodily injury to designated individuals, a felony count of disarming law enforcement officer, and misdemeanor counts of resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, simple assault, false identification to law enforcement officer and recklessly endangering another person, and a summary count of public drunkenness.
