Two people were killed in a crash Friday late Friday morning along Route 322 in Rockland Township.
Venango County coroner Christina Rugh identified the two as a 20-year-old woman and an approximately 30-year-old man.
Franklin state police are in the process of notifying the next of kin and hadn’t released the names of those involved in the crash early Friday evening.
The accident took place as one vehicle was headed east on Route 322 just after 11 a.m. when the driver encountered another vehicle that was in the opposite lane sliding sideways into its path.
The first vehicle struck the second vehicle in the three o’clock position, police said.
The two people in the second vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said their investigation is continuing and additional information is expected to be released in the coming days.
