Wrapped up in a good cause

Oil City High School junior Ryan Kalamajka said it was the first time he helped out with Jamie’s Kids and the first time he really ever wrapped Christmas presents. Jamie’s Kids held its annual Christmas wrapping and gift give away Monday night at the Oil City High School. They wrapped presents for 104 children from 37 families according to Kim Eberle, a Jamie’s Kids board member. The nonprofit is named in honor of Valley Grove Elementary School teacher and 1982 Rocky Grove High School graduate Jamie Jacoby, who lost her battle against stomach cancer in 2013. The program benefits needy elementary school children in the Oil City, Valley Grove, Franklin, Titusville, Cranberry, and Allegheny-Clarion Valley school districts. (By Richard Sayer)
