Woman waives hearings on endangerment, drug charges

From staff reports

A Franklin woman already facing child endangerment charges is now facing an additional drug-related charge.

Amber Knox, 30, was being booked into the Venango County jail Sept. 21 after being arrested for dropping her children off at school while she was intoxicated, and she was found to have concealed a Alprazolam pill on her person, Franklin police said.

Knox was charged with one felony count of possession of a controlled substance-contraband by an inmate.

Police said Knox took her children to Central Elementary School while showing signs of impairment. She was charged in that case with two felony counts of endangering the welfare of children as well as misdemeanor counts of DUI, possession of a controlled substance and use/possession of drug paraphernalia.

She was arraigned Monday and placed in the Venango County jail after failing to post bail.

Knox waived preliminary hearings in the cases Wednesday in Central Court.
