Woman pulled from river in Oil City

A woman was found to be unhurt after being rescued from the Allegheny River in Oil City on Friday afternoon.

The woman was trying to walk across the River near Ellectralloy when she “got into trouble,” the Oil City Fire Department said.

The river, the fire department said, was a little too deep and the woman got caught in the current.

She was picked up by the fire department’s boat near Ellectralloy, the fire department said.

Venango County 911 said the woman was in the river for about 10 minutes when she was picked up at about 2:15 p.m.

She was evaluated by Community Ambulance and released, the fire department said.

Oil City police also responded.
