Woman assaulted while holding children

OIL CITY – A man assaulted a woman holding two children in her arms, Oil City police said.

Oil City police were dispatched at 3:40 p.m. Sunday to Clearfield Street after a domestic dispute was reported. Police were informed that Michael S. Zaccaria had punched a woman and pushed her to the ground, striking her again as she held two children. The extent of the woman’s injuries are unknown.

Oil City police placed Zaccaria under arrest and charged him with aggravated assault, endangering the welfare of children, harassment and disorderly conduct.

Zaccaria was arraigned before District Judge Matthew Kirtland and placed into the Venango County jail on $85,000 bail.
