Woman arrested for thefts from OC residence

Oil City police arrested an Oil City woman in connection with thefts last month at a residence on High Street.

Police said Keela Baker, 23, and a man were caught on video removing items from the porch of a residence while a washing machine was being delivered. The items included a sound bar and a Sony subwoofer that were placed in a vehicle, police said.

The next day, the two returned to the residence and police said the man distracted the victim while Baker stole more items.

A criminal complaint says the man told the victim he could fix the security system and tried to destroy data on the hard drive.

A local computer company was able to recover the footage, which was turned over to police.

Baker has been charged with felony counts of burglary, criminal trespass and two counts of criminal conspiracy. She is also charged with two counts of theft by unlawful taking, two counts of receiving stolen property and two misdemeanor counts of criminal conspiracy, including conspiracy to tamper with evidence.

The man who was with Baker has been identified and charges are pending, police said.
