Woman arrested for DUI with child in vehicle

A Lawrence County woman is facing charges after she was allegedly found to be driving under the influence with her 3-year-old daughter inside the vehicle around 5 p.m. Sunday in Grove City.

Grove City police said they conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with a broken headlight near the intersection of West Main Street and Breckenridge Street.

The driver, Diamond Basham, 22, of Volant, was observed to be under the influence of marijuana, and marijuana and paraphernalia were also found inside her vehicle. She also had her 3-year-old daughter in the vehicle unrestrained by a seat belt.

Basham is facing counts of endangering the welfare of children, DUI, possession of small amount of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, general lighting requirements and restraint systems.

Charges are pending.
