Woman accused of Titusville arson

A woman has been charged with arson as a result of a structure fire in Titusville at about 6:30 a.m. Sunday.

Titusville police said while they were investigating the fire scene at 320 Bank St. at about 9:45 a.m., Karey Anne Walters, a local resident and former tenant, was found hiding in the woods behind the residence.

After further investigation, police said, Walters confessed to entering the residence and starting the fire.

Police said when fire departments arrived on the scene, flames were observed coming from windows on the first and second floors of the two-story residence.

Police said fire departments from Titusville, Cherrytree, Hydetown and Pleasantville brought the blaze under control.

Walters, who has been charged with one felony count of arson, was committed to the Crawford County jail.
