Woman accused of sexual assault against 14-year-old boy

From staff reports

State police in Corry said a Titusville woman has been charged with statutory sexual assault of a 14-year-old boy that occurred at multiple locations, including private residences in Oil Creek Township and Titusville.

Police said the investigation into the allegation against Rochelle Lee Cressman, 32, began after the boy’s mother had been advised by the boy of the nature of his relationship with Cressman.

Upon further investigation and interviews, police said, it was learned Cressman and the boy had been in an intimate relationship that began about Sept. 13 and ended about April 18.

Police said the boy told them he had sexual relations with Cressman at least 10 times and that he had multiple other sexual encounters with her.

Police said charges that were filed Wednesday were based on the interview with the boy and other evidence.

Titusville Area School District superintendent Karen Jez confirmed that Cressman was a teacher but is no longer working for the district. Jez declined to comment further on Cressman’s employment status or termination process.

“She has not performed any duties for the district since April 12,” Jez said. “The district is fully cooperating with law enforcement, Children and Youth Services and the Department of Education. Since it’s an ongoing investigation, I can’t comment further.”

Cressman is charged with 10 counts of statutory sexual assault, 10 counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, one count of unlawful contact with a minor, one count of endangering the welfare of a child, one count of corruption of minors, 42 counts of indecent assault and one count of terroristic threats.

Cressman was arraigned Thursday before District Judge Rita Marwood and placed in the Crawford County jail on $75,000 straight bond.
