Winter storm doesn’t deter marchers

About 60 to 75 people took part in the Jan. 19 women’s march: “A Celebration of Community” at Veterans Memorial Park along Main Street in Clarion. “Indivisible We Rise West Central Pennsylvania” organized the Clarion march. The event started in the park and preceded to the Clarion Free Library, where after a group photo, the participants went inside for refreshments and to hear speakers. Although a major winter storm was on its way, the march went off without a hitch. The march in Clarion was one of over 100 happening nationwide on Jan. 19, commemorating the 2017 Women’s March on Washington. The event was an opportunity to engage and empower all people to support women’s rights, human rights and the rights of all people to social justice. (Submitted photo)
