Waste-electronics collection scheduled

Venango County will sponsor a collection of household hazardous waste and electronics from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, at the Venango County Community Recycling Center, 134 Hangar Drive, next to Venango Regional Airport.

There is a minimal cost associated with disposal.

– Household hazardous waste (paints, chemicals, batteries, fluorescent light bulbs, etc.): 70 cents per pound.

– TVs and monitors: 45 cents per pound.

– Small freon-containing devices: 52 cents per pound.

– All other electronics: (laptops, printers, microwaves, cellphones, stereos, etc.): 25 cents per pound.

Attendees must pre-register with the collection vendor, Environmental Coordination and Services, prior to the day of the event, which can be done at ECSR.net or by calling 866-815-0016.

The event is open to both residents and businesses. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, attendees are instructed to follow state Department of Health protocols.
