The Northwest Hospital Foundation has taken to social media to promote a prayer chain for patients at UPMC Northwest hospital.
The Foundation said in a Facebook post that a lot of walkers on the trail at the hospital have been wearing red to show their participation in the prayer chain.
The chain was started about three weeks ago by Tom and Julie Carothers to support patients who aren’t able to have family at their side due to the coronavirus outbreak, according to the Foundation.
“Patients can see the walkers from their windows and know the community is supporting their recovery and they are not alone,” the Foundation said.
Anyone who wants to participate in the prayer chain is asked to put on their red, practice social distancing guidelines and offer prayers for healing.
