Venango Regional involved in Pittsburgh-Germany flights

From staff reports

German airline Condor is flying direct from Pittsburgh International Airport to Frankfurt this summer, and Southern Airways can get fliers to Pittsburgh from Venango Regional Airport in Franklin.

The program was introduced to a group of local government representatives, including Congressman Glenn Thompson, business leaders and local international travelers at an event Thursday night at Wanango Country Club in Reno.

“Condor is a large German airline with a hub in Frankfurt,” Southern Airways chief commercial officer Mark Cestari said Thursday. “Starting May 31, they will be offering twice weekly, nonstop flights from Pittsburgh to Frankfurt. Through our interline agreement, customers will be able to fly from Franklin to Pittsburgh to Frankfort with one ticket,” Cestari added.

Southern Airways worked through local travel agents to coordinate Thursday’s event, which featured German food, beer and wine.
