Valley Grove School Board acts on a couple of items

Valley Grove School Board acted on two significant items at its work session Monday evening.

The board unanimously approved a resolution to adopt the 2020-2021 general fund and capital reserve fund budget for Venango Technology Center.

The budget established by the center established total expenditures of $7,566,633 for both the secondary schools’ programs and the adult programs.

According to the center, $5,355,994 of that amount is used for the secondary programs for the county’s high schools and $2,210,669 for the adult programs.

Valley Grove School District’s contribution to the $5,355,994 amount was set at $615,884, the board was informed before the vote.

In other action items, the board approved a change in the March school board meeting schedule. The March 16 work session has been canceled and the work session instead will be combined with the regular school board meeting March 23.

The change was made because of a school director training session that will take place on the evening of March 16.

The board also approved three transportation and personnel requests.

In other business, the board considered several transportation, building and grounds and personnel requests that will be considered and voted on at the regular monthly session scheduled Tuesday.
