Two injured in plow truck crash

An accident in Irwin Township sent two people to the hospital at 1:45 p.m. April 8, Franklin state police said.

Paul J. Cubbal Jr., 64, of New Castle, was traveling on Route 8 just north of Blair Road in his Chevrolet Trailblazer when he attempted to pass a vehicle and failed to see a Mack truck fitted with a snowplow driven by Chris A. Drake, 52, of Emlenton. Cubbal’s vehicle collided with the back of the truck at approximately 65 miles per hour, heavily damaging his vehicle.

Cubbal and his passenger, Daniel A. Pisani, 58, of New Castle, were both transported by Superior Ambulance service to the Grove City Hospital with injuries of unknown severity. Clintonville Volunteer Fire Department were there to assist at the scene of the accident.

Cubbal was cited for careless driving.
