Titusville police arrest man wanted for burglaries

From staff reports

A Titusville man wanted by police following two burglary incidents last week was caught by Titusville police Monday evening.

Taylor Garland, 29, was found on West Central Avenue at about 7:15 p.m. Monday and was taken into custody without incident on a warrant, Titusville police said. He was then transported to the Crawford County jail, police said.

Titusville police said Garland illegally entered a residence on East Spring Street on Oct. 16 and again Saturday.

He physically assaulted and threatened a woman in the residence Oct. 16 and stole numerous items that belonged to the same woman Oct. 20, police said.

He has been charged with two felony counts of burglary, two felony counts of criminal trespass, misdemeanor counts of terroristic threats, theft by unlawful taking of movable property, receiving stolen property, simple assault and criminal mischief, and a summary count of harassment.

Garland was arraigned Tuesday morning before district judge Rita Marwood.

His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Nov. 6 before district judge Amy Nicols.

Garland remains in the Crawford County jail after he was unable to post bail.
