Tire recycling program scheduled Sept. 13 in O.C.

From staff reports

Oil City’s annual tire recycling program is set from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13, at the city garage on Regan Drive in Siverly.

Only non-commercial, rimless tires will be accepted.

Residential customers will be limited to eight tires, and a fee of $2 per tire will be charged for additional tires. Proof of city residency is required.

In addition, there will be a trash bin available for items the city’s garbage contractor doesn’t take at curb side. That includes scrap metal and limited material, such as lumber and plaster board, from small construction projects.

The city won’t accept household hazardous chemicals such as motor oil, paint, batteries or fluorescent light bulbs.
