Tim Horton’s closes in Franklin

From staff reports

Following months of speculation, Tim Horton’s in Franklin closed Monday.

Paper signs announcing the closure were taped to Crosby’s, which has housed the restaurant.

Crosby’s and Tim Horton’s at the corner of North 13th Street and Meadville Pike opened to fanfare in August 2014.

The convenience store portion of the operation doesn’t appear to be affected by the Tim Horton’s closure and will remain open.

An internet search shows that Franklin’s Tim Horton’s isn’t the only one to disappear as others have closed in big and small cities alike across Michigan, Minnesota and Ohio throughout 2019.

“At least 4 Dayton-area restaurants shut down abruptly,” one headline out of Dayton, Ohio, in September said. The story was accompanied by a slideshow of Tim Horton’s restaurants with large yellow “closed” signs in the windows.

Numerous calls to both Tim Horton’s and Crosby’s headquarters weren’t returned earlier this week.
