Taste of Talent vocal contestants announced

The Franklin Fine Arts Council announced Tuesday the contestants for the 2019 Taste of Talent vocal competition.

They are: Shannon Birsa, of Oil City; Hagan Cook, of Franklin; Tim Craver, of Franklin; Aalaiyah Jacques, of Knox; Scott Kennedy, of Franklin; Reagan Lashinsky, of Oil City; Joseph Lillard, of Oil City; Courtney McBride, of Pleasant Unity; Madyson Montana, of Leeper; Brianna Schwab, of Sligo; JW (Bill) Smith, of Franklin; and Joni Zacherl, of Clarion.

Franklin Events/Marketing Coordinator Ronnie Beith said there were 20 entries.

Six of the contestants chosen have competed in previous years and six are new to the competition, which will be held at Bandstand Park.

The kickoff will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 26, during Franklin’s Fourth of July Festivities Week. Contests will be held with participants being eliminated by audience vote on Wednesday, July 3, 10, 17 and 24.

Semifinals will be held Saturday, Aug. 3, at 7 p.m., and the competition finale will be held Sunday, Aug. 4, at 4 p.m. after Franklin Retail Association/Franklin Fine Arts Council Taste of Franklin Festival.

The three semifinalists will receive $100 cash and a $100 Franklin Retail Gift Certificate.
