Students to serve fall teas at Tarbell

The Tarbell house will hold a series of fall tea parties at 4 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21, Oct. 26, Nov. 16 and Dec. 14.  The Tarbell house is located at 324 East Main Street in Titusville in Crawford County.

The tea will be served by a number of re-enactors from the Titusville High School portraying a number of historical figures from Titusville’s past.  A four course meal will be served. The food will be prepared by faculty and additional student volunteers from Titusville High School.

Attendees will have the opportunity to interact with a young Ida Tarbell and her contemporaries.  Ida Tarbell was a leading investigative journalist during the Progressive Era.  She is most well known for her role in exposing the corrupt business practices of the Standard Oil Company.

Guided tours featuring the house’s seasonal décor will follow the main event.  There is a fee of $15 per guest.  Reservations are required.
