Street sweeping set for OC, Franklin

Crews in Franklin and Oil City will sweep city streets next week in the following areas:

Franklin

Monday – Third Shift: downtown Franklin business district and the alleys in the 1100 and 1200 blocks of Liberty Street; First Shift: Gurney Road side of Franklin Heights.

Tuesday – Third Shift: downtown Franklin business district, alleys in the 1100 and 1200 blocks of Liberty Street, and parking lots A and B; First Shift: Gurney Road side of Franklin Heights.

Wednesday – Third Shift: downtown Franklin business district, alleys in the 1300 block of Liberty Street, and Parking Lot E and at City Hall; First Shift: Gurney Road side of Franklin Heights.

Thursday -Third Shift: both sides of 13th Street, Coefields Corners area and Parking Lot C; First Shift: Gurney Road side of Franklin Heights.

Friday – Third Shift: both sides of 13th Street, Coefields Corners area and Parking Lot D; First Shift: Gurney Road side of Franklin Heights.

Residents may see temporary No Parking signs along some streets with times and days to be swept. Sweeper breakdowns or inclement weather may cause some rescheduling or delays.

Anti-skid materials may be swept into piles in front of residents’ property to be picked up by city crews. Residents should call the city maintenance center at 437-1600 between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. on weekdays to give the location of the anti-skid piles or paper biodegradable bags of leaves that need to be picked up during spring cleanup.

Oil City

Monday – West Front Street and Wyllis Street from Front to First.

Tuesday – West Second Street (all sections), Filson Avenue and Mineral, Darr, Abbott and Hickory streets.

Wednesday – Orchard Street, all sections of North Street, Reed Street from Front to Third, and Moran Street from Front Street to the top.

Thursday – Central Avenue, Petroleum Street, and Lincoln Street from Front to Third.

All vehicles must be removed from the streets by 7:30 a.m. on the day the work will be done. Vehicles that are not moved will be ticketed and possibly towed.
