Soapbox derby winners announced

The results are in for Venango Fatherhood Initiative’s 15th annual Soapbox Derby.

Anthony Rosario-Adams, program director at Venango Fatherhood Initiative, said “After weathering a brief storm, we were able to have a successful event. Thanks to all our sponsors.”

Here are the results:

The winners in the 7-9 year old bracket are 1st Aaron English, first place; Keontae Cambell (sponsored by Joe Taylor Ford), second place; and Tristan Dittman, third place.

The winners of the 10-11 year old bracket are Zachary Huffman, first place; Brittin Winters, second place; and Halie Winkler (sponsored by Joe Taylor Ford), third place.

The winners of the 12-14 year old bracket are Madyson Kissell, first place; Catherine Rigg, second place; and Olivia Hicks, third place.

Other awards given were two sportsmanship awards. They were given to racers who displayed appropriate, polite and fair behavior during the derby. They were given to Tristan Dittman and Zachary Huffman.

The winner of the most creative car award went to Ryleigh Dittman.

“It was an exciting to see so many people be involved in their children’s lives in such a positive way. I am looking forward to our second derby schedule on July 22nd at Rocky Grove,” Rosario-Adams said.
