Sister organizes fundraiser for OC man killed in crash

From staff reports

The sister of an Oil City man, a local construction worker and father of six who was killed in an automobile accident on Sunday, has started a fundraiser to help pay for funeral expenses.

Charles “Chuck” Jarzenski II, 42, died of injuries sustained in a crash on Route 157 in Cranberry Township. The Franklin High School graduate was employed as a laborer in the construction business.

Surviving are his wife, Kimberly, six children, three grandchildren and three siblings.

Sarah Jarzenski, a sister, launched a GoFundMe page to help raise $3,000 to help pay for funeral expenses.

In launching the fundraiser, she noted on the GoFundMe site, “I’m hoping to raise money to pay for his funeral cost. If you aren’t able to donate, that’s fine. Your prayers for our family during this tragic time are greatly appreciated.”

In addition, the Marvic Tavern at 401 E. Second St. in Oil City is sponsoring a memorial event to benefit the Jarzenski family from 3 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26.

The event, open to all interested persons, will include music, snacks, games and more as well as “a celebration of Chuck’s life.”
