My name is Saxon Daugherty and I am a reporter here at The Derrick and The News-Herald.
I got my start here in June 2015 after graduating from Edinboro University with a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications/Media Studies.
When I’m not working hard to bring our readers up to speed on all the latest happenings on Oil City council, the Oil City Area School District, Forest County or the latest court news, I’m busy being the biggest Pittsburgh Penguins fan in the office.
My passion for sports sometimes pops up in stories and I try to take advantage of every one of those opportunities to write about what I love.
I have learned so much over the past year and feel I have developed into a more efficient writer, but I still appreciate feedback from our readers so I can continue to get better.
