Rouseville man waives in child porn case

From staff reports

A Rouseville man waived his preliminary hearing Wednesday in a child pornography case in Venango County Central Court.

Decoda Ray Hawk, 20, is facing multiple felony counts of child pornography, corruption of minors and related charges.

Franklin state police said in December that an investigation revealed Hawk had been communicating regularly with a 16-year-old girl since April and that it had progressed to where Hawk was having inappropriate contact with the girl.

Police said this was a violation of Hawk’s probation and parole status from a 2017 conviction on a corruption of minors charge.

Hawk’s cellphone was later seized by State Probation and Parole agents and handed over to state police.

A search warrant for the cellphone was executed, which reveled nude images of the girl as well as multiple images of underage females in sexual acts, police said.
