Robotics tournament set Friday at Franklin High School

A robotics tournament will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday in the gymnasium of the Franklin Area Junior/Senior High School.

The event is free and open to the public. People are advised to enter through the gym doors inside the school building.

The first annual “Clash at the Castle” tournament will host 20 teams from six school districts including Franklin’s VEX robotics team.

Other participating schools and youth organizations are: Penn-Trafford High School from Harrison City; New Castle High School from New Castle; Hickory High School from Hermitage; Sarah Heinz House from Pittsburgh; and Brooke High School from Wellsburg, West Virginia.

The winner of Friday’s tournament will qualify for the state competition held this spring.
