Roadwork in Oil City to start next week

Roadwork will begin next week on Siverly Avenue and Oak Grove Street in Oil City.

Milling and paving work will be done, along with ADA curb ramp upgrades on Siverly from Colbert Avenue to Oak Grove Street and on Oak Grove Street from Kramer Avenue to near Vo-Tech Drive.

The project will require daytime detours of sections of the work zone as follows:

– Siverly Avenue – Colbert Avenue to Pierce Avenue, Pierce Avenue to Willow Street, and Willow Street to Oak Grove Street

– Oak Grove Street – Siverly Avenue to Fern Drive, Fern Drive to High Street and High Street to limit of work.

Motorists may also encounter lane restrictions with traffic controlled by flaggers. Drivers should be alert for traffic pattern shifts.

The contractor is IA Construction of Franklin. The contract cost is $230,404.77, which is to be paid entirely with federal funds.

The work should be completed in June.
