Resurfacing project to start on Sunville Road

From staff reports

A resurfacing project on nine miles of Sunville Road in Oakland, Plum and Jackson townships is scheduled to start next week.

The project will include paving 9.04 miles of Sunville Road from the intersection with Route 417 in Oakland Township and to the intersection with Route 27 in Plum Township.

Work will also include base repair, cold-in-place recycling of the existing roadway and shoulder backup.

Construction is expected to begin Monday, weather permitting, and is expected to be completed by the end of August.

Following the project’s completion, PennDOT employees from the Venango County maintenance facility will place a seal coat on the roadway.

No detours are expected in connection with the project. Motorists may encounter lane restrictions with traffic controlled by flaggers.

The contractor is Suit-Kote Corp. of Meadville. The contract cost is $783,553, which is to be paid entirely with state funds.

This project was made possible by Act 89, Pennsylvania’s transportation funding plan.
