The 25th annual Relay for Life was held Saturday at Oil City High School. It included special recognition walks and games throughout the day.

The fundraiser for the American Cancer Society, usually a 24-hour overnight event, was held to one day this year as heavy storms that blew through the area cut the event short.

Organizers decided to call off evening activities after rushing to get the Survivors’ Dinner and Walk in before the storm.

Organizers said they will look into holding a short event during summer to display luminarias with names of survivors and those lost to cancer written on them.
