Regional college plans open house at tech center

From staff reports

Northern Pennsylvania Regional College will host an open house event from 5 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 19, at Venango Technology Center in Oil City.

There will be a remote location available for those who can’t attend in person.

Prospective students along with guests will meet the college’s student services team and faculty at the event.

The attendees will have the opportunity to experience the college’s instructional delivery model, hear about the college’s history and mission, participate in a class demonstration with a faculty member, learn about the role a student engagement specialist plays in their educational journey and hear from a current student.

The college offers associate degrees, certificates, and workforce training to the region and within 15 miles of most residents in its nine-county footprint. Associate degrees include applied technology, business administration, criminal justice, early childhood education, liberal studies, and social sciences.

Five of these programs are eligible for financial assistance through a local CareerLink.

Future open houses are scheduled for July 19 and Oct. 25, and locations and times for those events are still being determined.
