Polk police department’s newest member of the force, K-9 Armin, was sworn in Monday, May 7, 2018, by District Judge Patrick Lowrey. Armin was born on July 18, 2016, in the Netherlands. He and his handler, Sgt. Alan Heller, certified at Shallow Creek Kennels in narcotic detection, article search, building search, obedience, aggression control and tracking. Armin replaces K-9 Vilko, who retired last month after nearly 11 years of service. The duo proudly serves the borough’s of Polk, Clintonville, Barkeyville and Utica, as well as the townships of Frenchcreek, Victory and Clinton. (Submitted photo)
