Police seek information on hit-and-run

Franklin state police are searching for the suspect in a hit-and-run crash that occurred at 8 p.m. Friday along Allegheny Avenue in Cranberry Township.

Police said the incident occurred when the suspect was traveling south on Allegheny Avenue and made contact with a black 2011 Volkswagon Jetta driven by Thomas Salsgiver, 50, of Oil City.

The suspect scraped the driver’s side of Salsgiver’s vehicle and broke the driver’s side mirror, police said.

The suspect then fled the scene in an unknown direction, police said.
