Police: Polk woman fired shots at boyfriend

From staff reports

A Polk woman is facing charges after allegedly attempting to shoot her boyfriend inside their Wiegel Lane residence in Victory Township Saturday.

According to police, Jodi Lee Moody, 55, fled the scene after firing three shots at her live-in boyfriend after an argument at about 10:20 p.m.

Police said Moody retrieved a revolver from a closet and fired at the 60-year-old victim. The victim retreated from the bedroom, and Moody fired a second time as the victim was running down a hall.

Once in the kitchen area, Moody fired a third time, narrowly missing the victim, police said.

After the third shot was fired, Moody was close enough to the victim that he was able to grab the revolver and disarm Moody, police said.

Moody then fled the scene and was seen at a convenience store, and she fled that location before police arrived, according to police.

Moody was located in Farrell several hours later, and she was taken into custody without incident, police said.

Moody is facing two felony counts of attempted criminal homicide, two felony counts of aggravated assault and three misdemeanor counts of recklessly endangering another person.

She was arraigned before District Judge Patrick Lowrey and placed in the Venango County jail on $200,000 bail.

A preliminary hearing is tentatively set for Sept. 20 in Central Court.
