Pitt-Titusville’s Broadhurst renovation to proceed

From staff reports

The University of Pittsburgh at Titusville is moving forward with its plan to renovate the Broadhurst Science Center.

“We are excited and eager to proceed with this project, which will provide some of the unique spaces needed for existing and future programs that will help meet the educational needs of our neighbors and the workforce needs of our regional employers,” said Catherine Koverola, the university’s president, in a news release.

Renovating the Broadhurst Science Center is the first phase of a four-phase plan to upgrade the facilities at the Education and Training Hub.

The center will house health sciences programs, including the associate degree in nursing and the medical assistant certificate program that will be offered by Manchester Bidwell Corp. once the renovations are complete.

Perry Construction of Erie is general contractor for the renovation, which is scheduled to begin in April.

Pitt-Titusville was to begin renovation in 2020, but the project was paused because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Considering the great significance of the hub to the viability of the campus and the region, we now have the green light to proceed with this important project,” Koverola said.
